What Kind of Father would I be if I didn't dedicate a whole section
to our new baby?

Daniel Webb Dempsey was borne to us on May 1st, 2004 at 5:16am
Central European time.

He weighed in at 3.8 kg (~8.4 lbs.) and measured 54cm (~1.8 ft.)

Labour started about 10am on Friday, April 30, and lasted until about
5am May 1st at which point it became clear that the baby's head was not
going to move into the correct position and a caesarian section was
ordered by the doctor. I can testify that this was a nerve-racking
moment, but the operation was pulled off without problems and both
mother and child are doing fine.
I would like to take a moment to praise the Czech medical staff of
Neratovice hospital
(just outside of Prague) for their absolute professionalism and top-end
attitude and personal attention throughout the entire process. I never
once doubted their abilities nor professional integrity. Those who are
considering delivering a baby within the Czech Republic, should consider
this hospital above all others. Anybody who knows me well knows my
feelings about the Czech Medical establishment and understands that this
is no light statement.
Sorry, due to demands from the mother, there was no web-cam footage.
Stay tuned to this section for all the latest news about the new
baby: Daniel Webb Dempsey.
If all goes as planned, little Daniel will be updating this site on
his own in a few months.
